Welcome to Mickley’s Little Rainbows, the new provision for 2-year-olds at Mickley First School. Learning now begins at age 2 in our vibrant early years environment. This new provision has been thoughtfully designed by our dedicated staff to ensure every child feels happy, secure, and ready to explore and learn.

Mickley’s Little Rainbows provides a warm, welcoming space tailored to support the early stages of child development. What children experience and learn in this nurturing environment helps to lay strong, lasting foundations for their future education. We believe in providing the highest quality of care and learning experiences to ensure every child thrives from the very start.

Here at Mickley First School, children and adults can explore, have fun, play, talk, and learn together, growing into happy, confident, and independent individuals.

With flexible options available for up to 10 children aged 2, we offer both morning and afternoon sessions, making it easy for families to choose the best schedule for their needs.

Our commitment to creating an engaging learning environment extends beyond the classroom. Over the summer, we transformed an existing classroom and updated our outdoor spaces with a new climbing frame, sandpit, and space for forest school activities – all thanks to funding from Councillor Anne Dale, the PTA, Essity, and generous donations.

As part of our connection with the wider community, we also offer a weekly ‘Stay & Play’ session, led by Jen Dawson, on Wednesday mornings. Open to all parents and toddlers under 4, this relaxed session allows families to drop in without booking, offering a fun opportunity to play and learn together.
