On behalf of Mickley First School, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you. We are very proud of our wonderful school community and look forward to working with you on your child’s journey through our lovely school. We provide ourselves on being “A small school, with big ambitions”.

At our school, we foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued and supported. Our dedicated team is committed to providing high-quality education that fosters personal development, and a love for learning. Visitors comment on the warm, welcoming feel of our school and our team ethos is very much at the forefront of all that we do.

In our school, we endeavour for our children to foster a passion for discovering new things, to be curious about the world around them and to be independent, enthusiastic learners. Our whole school community truly believes that all children are unique individuals. Our aims therefore are to provide a high quality education which supports yet challenges, to ensure that our curriculum is enriched and tailored to each child we serve and to maintain an engaging, purposeful and interactive school environment.

Our school also places great emphasis on fostering positive relationships between home and school. We believe that open communication and collaboration between parents, guardians, and teachers are vital for the success of our students. We encourage you to actively engage in your child’s education and take advantage of the various parent involvement programs and events we have planned throughout the year.

We know that every child is unique and we offer our pupils as many opportunities as possible to embrace their strengths, both inside and outside the classroom, using our fantastic school grounds for activities such as Forest School, outdoor learning and PE and sport. Music is also an important part of life in school with our wonderful school choir and opportunities to learn the guitar, trumpet and keyboard.

I hope that you find all the information you need on our website and that it gives you an insight into our wonderful school. If you have any further questions or would like to have a look around, please contact our school office and we will be happy to help in whatever way we can.

Mr Andy Hudson,
Headteacher
